About This Opportunity

The McKane medals are awarded under the will of John McKane, Professor of English Law in Queen's College Belfast from 1875 to 1885. The medal in Law will be awarded to the candidate who obtains the highest overall average over the three years of the LLB Single Honours degree course. The medal in Economics will be awarded on the results of the final honours examination in Economics. The medals are open only to registered students of the University in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences and they will be awarded to the duly qualified candidate who obtains the highest overall average over the three years of their degree programme. The University may in any year withhold any medal. This is a merit-based prize recognizing academic excellence in law and economics at the undergraduate level.
