About this opportunity

The Medical Student Indigenous Scholarship is part of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme at The University of Queensland. This scholarship was established in 2011 through 26 individual donations to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in the Doctor of Medicine program who can demonstrate financial hardship. Eligible applicants must be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, enrolled full-time in the Doctor of Medicine program at UQ, and able to demonstrate financial hardship. Selection criteria include demonstrated financial hardship, personal qualities including leadership potential, academic ability, and any other matters considered relevant to future academic success. Applicants submit a single online application to be considered for all scholarships in the Aspire Scholarship scheme, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship scheme, and the UQ Residential Scholarship scheme. Supporting documentation may include Centrelink statements, ATO statements, proof of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander status, academic achievement records, and evidence of community service or leadership achievements.
