Mediestøtte is a grant program from Oslo Municipality designed to improve coverage by local newspapers for the city of Oslo and its districts. The purpose of this funding is to stimulate a diversity of local news and current affairs media with high quality and independent journalism in Oslo. The grant supports text-based media whose main purpose is to produce journalism and convey a broad spectrum of news, current affairs, and societal debate from various areas of society. The grant can only be used for production and publication of news and current affairs media. For 2025, NOK 3.1 million has been allocated for distribution.
