About this opportunity
The Medworth Community Fund supports organisations which promote, enhance, improve, protect and conserve both the natural environment, as well as health and wellbeing. The fund welcomes applications from organisations working across Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, but projects must benefit those living within a 5km radius of the Medworth Energy from Waste Combined Heat and Power Facility in Wisbech.
The fund offers up to £200,000 each year for small grants of up to £5,000 and larger grants of up to £50,000. It will also consider multi-year projects on occasion. The fund seeks projects that deliver benefits within three core areas: Community (including public amenity spaces, transport-related wellbeing initiatives, youth facilities), Social/Health (community and social enterprise businesses, health and wellbeing initiatives), and Environment (low carbon energy, biodiversity projects, nature-based solutions for climate challenges, recycling and circular economy projects).
The fund was established by MVV Environment Medworth Ltd (MEM) to support the communities closest to the Medworth Energy from Waste facility. It aims to improve community spaces, youth provision, health and wellbeing initiatives, and the local environment. Applications are reviewed at specific deadlines throughout the year, with larger grants reviewed less frequently than small grants.
