About This Opportunity

Meistersinger Music Scholarships recognize and encourage talented student musicians who also thrive on Wartburg's academic challenges. These scholarships are renewable for four years and are open to both music majors and non-music majors. Awards range up to $5,000 per year, with All-State musicians guaranteed a minimum $2,500 scholarship upon auditioning. A select few students of exceptional musical ability will be considered for endowed music scholarships up to $10,000 per year, replacing all other music scholarships. Students audition by preparing two contrasting pieces in their chosen performance area (vocal, instrumental, keyboard, or percussion). Maintaining the scholarship requires participation in an approved ensemble, and scholarships of $2,500 or above also require enrollment in music lessons both fall and winter terms with at least a B- grade. The scholarship is awarded to incoming first-year and transfer students based on musical performance and ability demonstrated at the audition.
