About This Opportunity

The Metis Scholar Awards support students entering or continuing full-time certificate, diploma, applied undergraduate degree, or undergraduate degree programs at NAIT. This scholarship is designed for students who demonstrate a connection to the Metis Nation of Alberta and who are actively involved in the Metis community. Applicants must provide proof of Metis ancestry through a current citizenship card from the Metis Nation of Alberta or other recognized Metis National Council governing members. The award recognizes students who cannot be current clients of the Rupertsland Institute and must be residing in Alberta during their study period. Priority is given to Metis Nation of Alberta Citizens and those who have never received funding from Rupertsland Institute. Students must declare they are not registered under the Indian Act and must disclose all other sources of student funding. Recipients may continue to apply for Metis Scholar Awards in subsequent years while completing their studies until graduation.
