About this opportunity

The Michael and Aletha Hennessey Scholarship (Mature Female) is awarded to a mature female student entering third or fourth year in any faculty, who has returned to university studies in a full-time capacity. In the event of equally qualified candidates, financial need will be the determining factor. Students already in receipt of $1,000 or more in the same academic year are not eligible. The Michael and Aletha Hennessey Scholarships were established in honour of Michael and Aletha Hennessey of Charlottetown, PEI. Michael F. Hennessey was the University of Prince Edward Island's first Registrar who helped draft the university constitution when St. Dunstan's University merged with Prince of Wales College to form UPEI. Their children, Kathleen Garrett, Maureen Hennessey, Frank Hennessey, Sean Hennessey, and Patrick Hennessey established these scholarships in honour of their parents.
