About this opportunity
The Michael French Memorial Scholarship is designed to support students who are studying the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at the University of Queensland and are experiencing financial hardship. Norton Rose Fulbright established this scholarship to honour their late colleague Mr Michael French. The scholarship provides financial assistance of $5,000 to help students overcome financial barriers while pursuing their legal education.
Up to one scholarship may be awarded each year as it becomes vacant. The scholarship is available for the duration of the program, with a maximum duration equal to the Minimum Completion Time. Preference is given to applicants who are in their first semester of study in an approved program.
Applicants must be domestic students enrolled full-time in the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) program and must demonstrate financial hardship through documentary evidence. The scholarship cannot be held concurrently with another similar scholarship. Selection is based on evidence of financial hardship, strength of personal and leadership qualities, and potential for future success in studies. Shortlisted applicants will be contacted to attend an interview.
