About this opportunity
The Michael J. Burke Memorial Bursary in Millwork and Carpentry honors Mike Burke (1940-2008), an educator who spent 45 years teaching in Australia and Canada, and was also a remarkable woodworker. This endowed award was established by Carla Cumming Sojonky and the late Frank Sojonky in recognition of Mike's deep humanity and great friendship. The bursary is available to first-year students enrolled in the Millwork and Carpentry program at NAIT. Awards are based on demonstrated financial need and satisfactory academic achievement. Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, with preference given to Alberta residents. Students must complete an application to be considered for this award.
