About this opportunity
The scholarship was created by Ron Betz to honor his husband, Michael Kibbey. Michael Kibbey was a wonderful, caring, and generous Gay man. The scholarship honors him for his lifetime of generosity and loyalty to Gay and other humanitarian causes that he diligently supported. There is no higher cause than helping youth become productive, educated members of society who can help build a better and more compassionate world.
This scholarship is available to candidates who identify as members of the LGBTQ+ community and who aspire to uplift their LGBTQ+ community. Applicants must have demonstrated commitment through volunteer work supporting LGBTQ+ or minority communities.
Candidates may pursue any post-secondary program, including two- or four-year programs, advanced degrees (master's, doctorate, etc.), career, technical, or certification programs either full- or part-time in Ohio. The scholarship provides $2,000 to support the educational pursuits of LGBTQ+ students who have shown dedication to community service and advocacy.
