Michael S. Kelly Memorial Scholarship

The Michael S. Kelly Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a first year PEI high school student who best demonstrates the characteristics of leadership, community involvement, outstanding athletic ability, and academic excellence. This scholarship is established at the University of Prince Edward Island by the family, friends and colleagues of Michael Kelly to honour his life and contribution to Prince Edward Island. The award is intended to assist a deserving Island student who demonstrates leadership, academic and athletic ability to make a similar contribution. Michael Kelly was a gentle man, respected and admired by the Island community that he gave so much to. He was an outstanding athlete, a true servant of the public, a kind and loving husband and father, and a generous friend. Reflective, capable, and wise, Mike Kelly was a man successive governments relied upon in the most senior capacity for guidance. It is a testimony to his career and spirit that members of all political parties, colleagues, and the entire athletic community consider Mike Kelly a friend and joined together to memorialize his life through The Michael S. Kelly Memorial Scholarship.
