About This Opportunity

The Micki MacKenzie Educational Craft Bursary was founded in 2019 as a living memorial to Micki MacKenzie, who devoted her time and energy to the Craft Council of BC and helped secure funding for the construction of the Council's current building. This bursary supports an emerging artist to attend a recognized institution that offers material-based craft courses. The tuition will be paid directly to the institution and the remainder of the funds will be issued to the artist for supplies. The award recipient is required to submit 3 blogs over the year, make a presentation at the next CCBC AGM on how the award has affected their practice, and donate a piece of their craft to the Micki MacKenzie Collection held by the MacKenzie family. The bursary is managed by the Micki and Murray MacKenzie Family Foundation through the Aqueduct Foundation, in partnership with the Craft Council of BC.
