About this opportunity
The Middle Georgia TRIO Scholarship was established in 2018 by alumni of the TRIO program as a way to give back to current students. The scholarship provides financial support to help central Georgia students who participated in a TRIO program (Educational Talent Search, Upward Bound, or Educational Opportunity Centers) during high school pursue a college education. TRIO programs give students from low-income families the academic support necessary to help them enter college. This renewable scholarship awards $500 per year for up to 4 years to one graduating senior annually. Applicants must reside in or attend high school in Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Jones, Monroe, Twiggs, or Wilkinson counties and maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA. Selection is based on participation in TRIO programs and likelihood to succeed as demonstrated through volunteer service, personal statements, and recommendations.
