Akershus fylkeskommune offers funding for driver's license training for professional driver apprentices in 2025. The grant supports young people who sign apprenticeship contracts in the professional driver occupation with collaborating companies in Akershus county. The program covers up to half of the costs for driver's license training, with a maximum of 60,000 NOK per candidate. To be eligible, applicants must have a registered residential address in Akershus as of March 1, 2025, have an agreement with a collaborative organization to sign an apprenticeship contract in the professional driver occupation, and not have obtained a place on the national program. The collaborating organization, training company, or industry must cover 50 percent of the driver's license costs themselves. A total of 540,000 NOK has been allocated for this purpose, and funds will be distributed in June 2025.
