About This Opportunity

The Military Commanders' Scholarship provides financial assistance for college to children of active and retired military personnel. This program is open to children of Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, and retired members of the U.S. military. The scholarship supports high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll full time as entering freshmen at an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university. Applicants must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher. Selection is based on academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, an outside appraisal, and financial need. The program serves children of all branches of the U.S. military including Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard.
