About this opportunity
The Miriam Cotter MA Scholarship in Creative Writing is awarded to a writer of exceptional promise who is writing from a traditionally underrepresented area of society and who has been offered a place for full-time registration on UCC's MA in Creative Writing. The scholarship provides full EU fees coverage and a €6,900 stipend to support the scholar. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage participation and success by students from traditionally underrepresented communities in publishing or significantly underrepresented in higher education. The university is committed to a proactive approach to diversity and inclusivity to redress imbalances of representation in both the MA course and the wider cultural landscape. Selection is made based on a combination of merit, eligibility, and need, with merit assessed via the writing sample provided as part of the student's original application to the MA.
