Mitacs - Accélération

Mitacs Accélération is a research internship program that enables students to apply their expertise through paid internships in partner organizations. The program provides funding to support collaborative research projects between students and companies. Participants receive a minimum of $10,000 to $15,000 in funding, with the partner organization contributing a minimum of $7,500 per internship unit. The program is open to students at all levels of study (undergraduate, master's, and doctoral) enrolled full-time or part-time in any field of study. During the internship, participants spend approximately 50% of their time at the company and 50% at the university, allowing them to bridge academic research with real-world business applications. The program is available year-round on a rolling basis, with applications accepted at any time, preferably 8 weeks before the project start date. Students are responsible for finding their partner organization and ensuring the company agrees to provide financial contribution. Applicants must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or hold a valid study permit.
