MLKCCSD Educational Grant

The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Choir of San Diego (MLKCCSD) offers educational grants to support graduating high school seniors pursuing artistic majors at universities, four-year colleges, community colleges, conservatories, or art schools. Since 1998, the organization has awarded $330,000 in educational grants to 137 students in the San Diego community. This grant targets young artists with passion and determination who express themselves through singing, dancing, playing instruments, painting, sculpting, filmmaking, acting, writing, or any other artistic medium. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors with a GPA of 2.75 or higher, residents of San Diego County, and U.S. citizens who intend to pursue their art in higher education during the next school year. The application requires gathering transcripts and references, and applicants are encouraged to be creative in showcasing their talents. The organization provides support via phone and email for applicants who need assistance with the application process.
