About This Opportunity

The Mokaraka Wāhine Māori in Business Scholarship was established in 2019 and is funded by the Mokaraka Trust, founded by Melanie Smith (Ngāpuhi), an alumnus of the University of Auckland and current CEO of National Exhibition Centre (NEC) Group in the United Kingdom. The Trust was created to inspire wāhine Māori to be ambitious in their career and leadership goals. The main purpose of the Scholarship is to encourage and support young high achieving wāhine Māori studying in the University of Auckland Business School, and their desire to achieve leadership roles in their future careers. This scholarship provides financial assistance to support outstanding Māori women as they pursue their business education and develop their leadership potential.
