Moor House Wind Farm Community Fund

The Moor House Wind Farm Community Fund, administered by Point North on behalf of OnPath Energy, supports local community groups, voluntary organisations, and environmental projects that fight poverty and enrich lives within the Darlington Borough Council area. The fund is specifically designed to benefit communities near the Moor House Wind Farm, which is located north east of Darlington. Priority is given to specific locations including Barmpton, Bishopton, Brafferton, East and Newbiggin, Great Burdon, Great Stainton, Little Stainton, Sadberge, and communities north of the A1150 and east of the A167. Projects outside these priority areas may be considered if they demonstrate benefits to local people from these locations. The fund provides grants up to £7,000 for a wide range of community initiatives including promotion of energy efficiency, environmental protection and nature conservation, supporting health and wellbeing, regeneration, improvements to community facilities, education and training facilities, and social welfare activities such as lunch clubs and food banks. Applicants do not need to be registered charities but must have charitable aims. Eligible applicants include community groups, voluntary organisations, playgroups, youth clubs, church and village halls, sports clubs, scout and guide movements, environmental projects, clubs for senior citizens, schools for non-statutory projects, and education, employment, training and skills development initiatives for unemployed people. Applications are assessed within 12 weeks of submission and the fund is administered by Point North, a registered charity that manages community foundations and grant programs throughout the region. The deadline for applications is 1 February 2026.
