About this opportunity
The Morna Hooker Studentship is a doctoral funding opportunity provided through the generosity of the Kirby Laing Foundation. This studentship supports doctoral research in any aspect of New Testament studies at the University of Cambridge's Faculty of Divinity. The award covers home and international tuition fees as well as maintenance costs for the duration of the PhD program.
The Faculty of Divinity particularly encourages and welcomes applications from women and from candidates of a Black, Asian, or other minority ethnic background, as these groups are currently under-represented in doctoral research in New Testament studies at Cambridge. The studentship provides comprehensive financial support for three years of full-time or part-time doctoral study.
This competitive award is based on academic merit and is designed to enable outstanding scholars to pursue advanced research in New Testament studies. One studentship is awarded each year, with the value ranging from £29,356 to £50,320 annually depending on the recipient's fee status and living costs.
