About this opportunity

The Morris & Miriam Marden Graduate Award in Mathematics is awarded to graduate students with an outstanding paper written on a mathematical topic as deemed by a committee of faculty members. Both quality of exposition and mathematical content will be evaluated. The paper need not be written specifically for the Marden Award; papers originally written for coursework, independent study, professional reports, dissertation, or other reasons are acceptable. Students should contact their faculty advisor for information on how to have their paper considered by the faculty committee. This award recognizes excellence in mathematical writing and research among graduate students at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
