About this opportunity
Funded by Virginia Tech, the Jim '73 and Liz Mossberg Table Tennis Scholarship was established by Jim Mossberg '73, an avid table tennis player and founder of the Table Tennis Club at Virginia Tech. This apply-to scholarship supports incoming freshman Virginia Tech students who are active USA Table Tennis (USATT) members with a rating of at least 2000 as of March 15 in the year the academic year starts. Recipients must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, play in a USATT-sanctioned tournament in the year prior to March 1 of the application year, and agree to actively participate in the Virginia Tech Table Tennis club and be a member of the Virginia Tech Table Tennis team. Students must pursue specific majors in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, statistics, or computational modeling and data analytics. Renewing recipients must continue to be active participants in the Virginia Tech Table Tennis Club and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA. The scholarship provides significant financial support for students who combine athletic excellence in table tennis with strong academic performance in STEM fields.
