Muriel Affleck Prize

The Muriel Affleck Prize is awarded to a student with superior academic achievement entering the fourth year of a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education at the University of Alberta. Selection is based on academic standing and demonstrated excellence in the field of reading. This award recognizes outstanding students who have shown exceptional performance in both their academic work and their contributions to the field of reading education. The prize was established through endowed funds by family and friends of Dr. Muriel Affleck in recognition of her contribution to early childhood education and reading. This award may be given to a student taking less than the minimum 24 credits over the most recent September to April period.
