About this opportunity

This grant program supports music initiatives that fall outside other grant schemes from the Norwegian Cultural Council. It provides funding for both time-limited projects and ongoing operations with annual professional management. The program aims to promote new initiatives, artistic experimentation, pilot and preliminary projects that contribute to development in music life, and documentation and accessibility of Norway's musical heritage. It also aims to provide predictable operational frameworks for organizations with high professional quality and competence, continuous activity levels, professional operations, long-term goals, and professional significance beyond local impact. Examples of eligible activities include artistic experimentation, seminars and conferences, cross-artistic collaborations, projects where children and youth create music on their own terms, publication of general music literature, edition of sheet music, and preservation and dissemination of musical heritage in Norway.
