About this opportunity

The myCHOICE Travel Award is designed to help trainees attend professional development conferences and workshops. The award provides a maximum of $500 and is open to applications each quarter, due by the first Friday of the quarter. A maximum of one award is awarded each quarter. The award is restricted to payment for registration fees, travel, and/or accommodations associated with professional development conferences. This funding is specifically for events such as science policy, consulting, leadership training, or other forms of professional skill development. It will not be awarded to attend academic conferences or training related to the applicant's academic field of study. Applicants must be PhD students or post-doctoral trainees in UChicago Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, or Molecular Engineering. Award recipients must provide a letter of acceptance/registration from the organizers, an anticipated budget, a letter of support from their PI or Program Chair, and submit a brief report within 2 weeks of returning from the event describing the primary take-aways from the conference.
