About This Opportunity

The Myrtle Beinhauer Scholarship was created through a generous bequest by Myrtle Beinhauer to the Sons of Norway Foundation to support Sons of Norway youth. The scholarship honors her memory and commitment to education, with additional funding provided by Sons of Norway lodges, members, and friends. This scholarship provides up to $4,000 for students pursuing technical/vocational or undergraduate education in any field of study. Applicants must be current members of Sons of Norway or children or grandchildren of current members, with membership in effect for at least one calendar year prior to application. The scholarship celebrates Nordic culture and heritage while supporting young people aged 17-26 who are U.S. citizens studying in the United States. Recipients are expected to demonstrate how their studies align with the Foundation's core values, which include building Nordic culture, lifelong learning and service, demonstrating compassion, sustaining links to contemporary Norway, and fostering generosity.
