About This Opportunity

The Myton Food Group, Morrisons Manufacturing & AHDB Pig Industry Scholarship is offered to students at Harper Adams University who are interested in careers in the pig industry. The scholarship provides a significant financial contribution of £4,500 towards education, along with paid employment with the sponsoring pig industry company during the placement year. This is a competitive award evaluated on merit of the submitted application, academic achievements to date, and interview performance. The scholarship is specifically designed for 2nd year BSc or 1st year FdSc students studying at Harper Adams University. A mandatory condition of the scholarship is that the placement year must be spent with the sponsoring organization. The award is paid in two equal installments - half in February 2026 and the remaining balance in May 2026. Subject to a review at the end of the placement with the sponsoring firm, there may be an opportunity for further funding in the scholar's final academic year. The scholarship is part of a broader Pig Industry Scholarship program that includes multiple industry partners such as Quality Equipment G E Baker Ltd, Rattlerow, Sofina Foods, and Cargill. Applicants are limited to a maximum of 3 placement-based scholarship applications and must submit their application via the Student Dashboard. Students are invited to a lunchtime presentation where they can hear from current scholarship recipients and industry representatives to learn more about the program and career opportunities in the pig industry.
