About this opportunity
The Nairn Care Experienced Postgraduate Scholarship is designed to support care-experienced students pursuing postgraduate taught study at the University of Strathclyde. Care-experienced refers to anyone who has been or is currently in care, such as in foster care, residential care, kinship care, or at home under a supervision order and includes adopted children who were previously in care.
The scholarship provides financial support ranging from £1,500 to £3,000 per academic year to help with various costs including equipment and study costs, internship work placement or project costs, living costs, travel costs, and tuition fees. At Strathclyde, there is a strong commitment to supporting care-experienced students in their academic journey.
This scholarship is available for new postgraduate taught care-experienced students starting at the University of Strathclyde in Academic Year 2026/27. Applicants must be classed as Home/rUK for fee purposes, hold a firm offer for full-time postgraduate taught study, and have declared their care-experienced status either via UCAS or by contacting the Widening Access Team.
The scholarship is open across a wide range of subject areas including engineering, business, science, humanities, social sciences, and many other disciplines offered at the university. Applications are accepted through an online form with outcomes communicated in mid-August 2026.
