About this opportunity

The Nancy Paton Women in Science Scholarship is an undergraduate scholarship established in 2023 to support the long-term future of women in science, a field in which women are currently underrepresented. The scholarship has been generously donated by Nancy Paton and is designed to support female students pursuing undergraduate degrees within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. The scholarship is valued at $8,500 per annum and is tenable for up to 3 years, providing financial support to help recipients complete their undergraduate studies. Selection is based on academic merit, demonstration of financial need or disadvantage (if relevant), and a personal statement outlining the impact of a scholarship on their ability to study. Preference may be given to students who demonstrate financial need or disadvantage. Recipients must maintain satisfactory academic performance with a minimum Semester Average Mark (SAM) of 65 each semester to continue receiving the scholarship.
