Nancy S. Cavanaugh Social Work Scholarship

This award honors Nan's memory and contribution to the University and the field of Social Work by recognizing a student who embodies her core characteristics: commitment to children, diligence, critical thinking, and commitment to social justice. The scholarship is designed to support graduate students attending the Graduate Program in the Social Work Department at Westfield State University with a concentration in working on behalf of children and placed in an advanced practicum working with children. Applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.3 or higher and be residents of Massachusetts. Special consideration will be given to applicants with a financial hardship. This scholarship celebrates Nancy Cavanaugh's legacy in social work and her dedication to improving the lives of children through social justice advocacy.
