About this opportunity
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on remote sensing-based hydrological research, modeling, and applications at the Hydrological Sciences Laboratory at Goddard Space Flight Center. Selected candidates will contribute to the understanding, quantification, and analysis of components of the hydrological cycle, including soil moisture, snow, ground and surface waters, precipitation, evapotranspiration, and runoff, utilizing innovative remote sensing and numerical modeling techniques. Candidates should have experience in hydrology, hydrologic remote sensing, hydrometeorology, hydroclimatology, environmental science, Earth system modeling, machine learning, and data assimilation. This opportunity is closed to applicants who are Senior Fellows (5-years or more past PhD).
