About This Opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on theoretical and experimental research in atmospheric science, radiative transfer, and remote sensing, including remote sensing of aerosols and clouds, atmospheric correction of satellite imagery, interaction of aerosols and clouds and their climatic impact, remote sensing of emissions from biomass burning in the tropics, calibration of satellite sensors, and analysis of satellite data. Field experiments are conducted with measurements from aircraft and ground-based instruments of aerosol properties and their effects on cloud microphysics and radiation characteristics. This position is located at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
