About This Opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on experimental research to simulate the conditions of hot environments to study the atmospheric chemistry, cloud formation, and planetary evolution of exoplanets. The research is mostly experimental though theoretical modeling is also encouraged. The candidate will have access to unique experimental technology to conduct a range of experimental scenarios including varying temperature, pressure, chemistry, and analytical methods. Research can entail the development of instrumentation or scientific investigations for a variety of hot environments. The primary goal is to provide inputs for theoretical models and verification data for observations of exoplanet atmospheres.
