About This Opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on collecting observations of climate-forcing trace gases and their co-emitted species using ground-based remote sensing and aircraft in situ measurements. These measurements complement current and future satellite observations to improve understanding of emissions sources and atmosphere-biosphere interactions. The Atmospheric Composition focus area aims to better understand the processes that affect air quality, weather, and climate through modeling and observations of atmospheric composition and investigating how the atmosphere interacts with the biosphere and oceans, particularly in a changing climate.
