About This Opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on numerical simulations for cosmology, involving the development and exploitation of cosmological numerical simulations and mock galaxy catalogs for weak lensing and galaxy clustering. The research will directly support the preparation and analysis of ambitious cosmological surveys planned for the 2020's, including NASA's Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST), the ESA/NASA Euclid mission, and the ground-based Large Synoptic Survey Telescope. The position is located at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, under the advisorship of Alina Kiessling in the field of Astrophysics.
