About This Opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on planetary magnetic fields research at Goddard Space Flight Center. Using observations from magnetometers on spacecraft, researchers can learn about planetary cores, oceans or aquifers, and atmospheric interactions with the solar wind. The candidate would work with existing spacecraft data from missions like MAVEN, Juno, and Parker Solar Probe to conduct data analysis examining topics such as solar wind erosion of the Martian atmosphere, Jupiter's internal magnetic field and magnetosphere, and the origins of the solar wind.
