About this opportunity
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects. This specific opportunity focuses on research in planetary mapping and tectonic evolution of Mars, or planetary robotic geology and the search for habitable environments and water on planetary surfaces. The tectonic research examines the distribution and relative age of extensional and compressional features on Mars' surface through paleotectonic mapping. The robotic geology research develops new instrument techniques for planetary exploration, particularly for in-situ measurements of hydration, geochemical, and petrologic indicators. These one- to three-year competitive fellowships are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. The research will be conducted at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California under the advisorship of Dr. Robert Anderson.
