About This Opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on quantum communication research at Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio. The postdoctoral researcher will work with GRC researchers on space-based quantum networks, including characterization of time-entanglement and polarization-entanglement sources using Bell's Inequality Tests, verification of single photon sources, and estimation of photon-pair generation rates. The research involves designing and building free space or fiber optic systems to optimize performance with entangled sources, photon detectors, and laboratory hardware. Results will guide future quantum communication network development for applications in sensing, secure communications, and distributed quantum computing.
