About This Opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific position focuses on improving aerosol and greenhouse gas retrievals in regions with high aerosol loading such as the Sahel, volcanic areas, and megacities. The project aims to enhance Aerosol Optical Depth and Aerosol Layer Height retrievals to improve greenhouse gas measurements from OCO-2 and OCO-3 satellites under challenging aerosol conditions including volcanic activity, megacities, deserts, and biomass burning. By enhancing greenhouse gas retrievals, this project aims to advance understanding of global carbon cycle science.
