About this opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on developing terahertz instruments working in the 0.1 to 5 THz frequency band for astrophysics, planetary science, and Earth science applications. The research involves designing, fabricating, and testing frequency multiplied sources, highly sensitive room temperature and cryogenically cooled detectors, various passive and active components, and antennas at submillimeter-wave and terahertz frequencies. The position is based at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, and seeks highly motivated candidates with experience in the design, assembly, and test of terahertz devices and components.
