About This Opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on Space Geodesy research at Goddard Space Flight Center. The Space Geodesy Project (SGP) operates and develops the systems for NASA's Space Geodetic Network, including: Satellite Laser Ranging (SLR), Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), and Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) stations. The integrated geodetic site at Goddard's Geophysical and Astronomical Observatory (GGAO) is a key component of the research and development effort. Research opportunities include technology development for the next generation systems, lunar laser ranging, science applications of the ground network, geodetic data analysis, and development of algorithms for geodetic analysis tools.
