About this opportunity
The NASA Postdoctoral Program offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects. This specific opportunity focuses on conducting scientific research related to the use of high-precision photometric data from Kepler, K2, and TESS missions to perform studies of stellar astrophysics and variability. The successful postdoctoral candidate will work with NASA/Ames researchers who have detailed expertise in using such data for new studies in astronomy, astrophysics, and planetary science. The research will involve analyzing millions of light curves showing stellar variability to advance understanding of stellar astrophysics. NASA/Ames conducts detailed ground-based follow-up observations that may also be part of the proposed research effort. The exact nature of the proposed research will depend on the candidate's background and research interests and a mutually agreeable research plan with the listed advisors. The successful candidate will be expected to accomplish independent research, produce publications, attend and present at conferences, become a member of the current research team, and lead their proposed research effort.
