About This Opportunity

The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on stratospheric water vapor (SWV) research using the Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment (SAGE) data. SWV is a key element in the energy budget and climate, influencing stratospheric aerosol microphysics and global ozone depletion. The SAGE Mission is seeking qualified candidates to conduct research activities that advance the maturity of the upper atmosphere water vapor product, including studies that improve and assess data accuracy, precision, and robustness. Application of dataset improvements to answer relevant questions in Earth System science is also a goal. Efforts are expected to be conducted in collaboration with the SAGE algorithm/data processing and validation teams, as well as the broader SAGE science team and user community.
