About this opportunity
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA's missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology. This specific opportunity focuses on the CHAMPs consortium, an interdisciplinary research team addressing the question: 'Can M-dwarf planets support life, and if so, how do we best observe and characterize them?' The team consists of two dozen scientists with expertise in modeling, observations, and data analyses. The program seeks self-motivated applicants with capacity for interdisciplinary research, background in modeling/observations, and interest in planetary atmospheres and astrobiology. Selected fellows are expected to attend the Astrobiology Graduate Conference (AbGradCon) and/or the Astrobiology Science Conference (AbSciCon) using provided travel funds.
