About this opportunity
Established in 2019 by the members of the National Institute of Social Sciences, these travel grants are awarded to help defray travel expenses incurred by graduate students attending the American Historical Association (AHA) annual meeting. The grants provide travel subsidies of up to $400 each to support graduate student participation in the AHA annual meeting. Graduate student applicants in any major or minor field of history will be considered, with preference given to those participating in the meeting program and to those who have previously applied but not received an award. Recipients are selected by lottery and notified in early December. After attending the annual meeting, successful applicants are required to submit travel receipts and write a 250-word reflection on a session they attended at the meeting.
