Nature Recovery

The Nature Recovery grant programme from Biffa Award supports projects that protect and restore biodiversity, including species of plants and animals, their habitats, and natural processes. This funding is designed for projects that directly reintroduce or improve habitats or species while working to meet commitments within the country's Environmental Improvement Plan, legally-binding targets from the Environment Act 2021, or priorities identified within Local Nature Recovery Strategies. Projects must demonstrate strong public access or volunteer involvement, have support from key agencies, and include a comprehensive biodiversity management plan. The programme aims to enable adaptation to environmental threats such as climate change while benefiting communities living near landfill sites.
