About this opportunity

This grant program supports nature interpretation at eight specific authorized visitor centers in Norway designated in the government's annual budget proposal. The program aims to develop authorized visitor centers for nature, enabling them to disseminate knowledge about nature to local residents and visitors, especially children and youth. The centers also contribute to local value creation. The scheme is specifically designed to strengthen insight into and respect for natural and cultural environments, particularly among children and youth. Authorized visitor centers must meet authorization requirements at all times to be eligible for grants, and previous grant recipients can only receive funding if reporting requirements for prior grants have been fulfilled. For 2026, eight centers can apply for up to NOK 1,087,500 each: Norwegian Wild Reindeer Centre, predator visitor centers in Flå and Namsskogan, national park visitor centers in Nordland and Færder, Hardangervidda National Park visitor center at Skinnarbu, and wetland visitor centers at Ilene and Nordre Øyeren. The centers must have submitted reports and preliminary accounts for 2025 by January 15, 2026 to receive funding in 2026.
