Navantia Australia RMIT Scholarship

The Navantia Australia RMIT Scholarship provides funding for doctoral research focused on developing Artificial Intelligence models to enable effective human and machine cooperation in naval operations. The scholarship supports investigation and development of mechanisms for modelling joint intentions, appropriate communication protocols between humans and machines, and the explainability of decisions made by both humans and machines. This research is specifically designed for the context of naval operations. The scholarship includes a stipend of $52,500 per annum for 3.5 years plus up to $35,000 toward supplies and consumables for the project, providing comprehensive support for doctoral candidates pursuing this specialized area of AI and defense research.
