About this opportunity
The NCCCS-Glaxo SmithKline Teacher Promise Scholarship awards financial support to students enrolled in Associate in Arts in Teacher Preparation (A1010T) or Associate in Science in Teacher Preparation (A1040T) degree programs at North Carolina Community Colleges. The program is designed to support students pursuing teaching careers by providing renewable scholarship funding based on enrollment status.
Full-time students enrolled in at least 12 credit hours may receive the scholarship for up to two consecutive years, not including summer terms. Part-time students enrolled at least half-time (6 credit hours) receive a reduced scholarship offer for up to four consecutive years, not including summer terms. Students must complete the FAFSA and demonstrate unmet financial need, as well as meet satisfactory academic progress standards as determined by their college.
This scholarship is a collaborative effort between the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) and GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) to address teacher shortages and support the development of future educators. Individual colleges have flexibility to establish their own criteria and selection processes through scholarship committees. The scholarship is not transferable between institutions.
